  • Chardonnay
    • One of the world's most popular grapes
    • Can be sparkling or rich and creamy, aged in oak
    • Pairs best with subtle spices and flavors
    • Santa Barbara, CA: ripe apple and tropical fruits and buttery
    • From pages 96-97
Specific Characteristic
  • My initial thoughts could have been more exciting. I did not like the smell of the wine. It smelt very acidic. It was very flavorful on the mouth. It was on the drier side. I could pick up the notes of honey and sour apple. I have this wine chilled with pork and potatoes. The food stayed the same taste as I thought it would.

      • From pages 150-151
Specific Characteristic
  • I am opening my palate to red wines. This is not a wine I would drink again. I am going to stick to whites and roses. All I smelt was alcohol. It did taste better than it smelled, which was nice. I could taste notes of raspberry and cherry.

    • Notes of gooseberry, honeydew, grapefruit, white peach, and passionfruit.
    • From page 165
Specific Characteristic
  • This wine was extremely sour. It was a lighter wine which was very dry and acidic. It had a few green apple and pear notes. I had this wine with a white sauce pasta. The pasta made it more bearable, but I would not drink it again.
