Who Am I?

Happy Sunday🌞

My name is Jordan Buck and I cannot wait to start this journey with you! Throughout my life thus far, I have not drunk a lot of wine. If I had to choose between table, sparkling or fortified wine, I would definitely choose a sparkling wine. I love prosecco and most varieties of champagne. Even though sparkling is my favorite, I also have had many table wines which I enjoy. I tend to drink more white and pink wines than red just because I have not become accustomed to this particular taste. I have had an affinity towards Malbec just because it is my mother's favorite type of wine. I have never tried fortified wine and I am extremely excited to during this course.
I think my first experience with wine was when I had communion and the blood of Christ. As a young child, this was not the first alcohol I would have wanted. As I have been exploring and tasting various types of alcohol, I have become more fond of drinking wine with my fancier dinners, especially Italian food. I have been blessed to sample varietal, blended, and vintage wines. Each type of wine not only is different based on how many grapes go into the wine and when the grapes where harvested, but they also all have a different terroir. I tend to love wine from Spain and Argentina, yet all of the flavors differ and I think this is just so crazy.
Some things I want to learn over this course are how to properly drink certain wines. Before I started drinking wine, I did not know what it meant to let the wine breathe or to aerate the wine before it was drunk. I want to be able to have a sophisticated conversation about the wine I am drinking. I also want to be able to identify what I taste in the wines. I know many of them have different notes and flavors in the wine which can be difficult to pick out.
